Graphics

Graphics is the portion of visual arts that deals with the use and creation of two-dimensional images such as photographs, drawings, paintings, animations, computer generated images (cgi) and combinations of these. They are used to:

  • Draw attention
  • Evoke emotions
  • Illustrate a point
  • Emphasize importance
  • Add interest
  • Relay a message
  • Stimulate recognition
  • Symbolize an idea

Skillful use of images can accomplish this and more with a single glance and often without a word. Images can be powerful tools. Used correctly they can make a piece highly memorable. Used incorrectly they cause it to be utterly forgettable.

Designers incorporate graphics into logos, business cards, websites, ads, mailings, posters and all types of material used to promote a business and market its products and services. My graphic design work is carefully planned and constructed to meet the goals of those who employ me.
